Locals invited to a cuppa with Scott Cam at CUA branch openings

TV celebrity Scott Cam of Channel Nine’s “Domestic Blitz” had a cuppa with locals when he supported the official opening of the new CUA Doncaster and Frankston branches on Tuesday May 12.

CUA Acting CEO Rob Nicholls said the new branch locations were expected to boost CUA’s member numbers and enhance convenience for members.

“We expect to receive a good response from the Doncaster and Frankston communities as people recognise the added benefits CUA offers as Australia’s largest credit union,” he said.

“Our membership numbers have continued to grow over the years as people realise there are better, more customer-focused alternatives to the traditional banks that aren’t just focused on profit.

“Since we are not a publicly listed company we do not have shareholders that require a dividend payment so our focus is not on satisfying profit demands.

“This means all profits we do make are reinvested back into CUA creating better, more competitive products and services.

Mr Nicholls said the new CUA Doncaster and Frankston branch teams felt privileged to become a part of their local communities.

“The branch staff are excited about the opportunity to be involved in the lives of locals whether that be by assisting with the purchase of a first home, budgeting to start a family, or helping them sort out their finances during a time of hardship.”

Those who attended the official openings were given the opportunity to go into the draw to win a $500 cash management account and those who undertook a financial health check on the day received a free Scott Cam book – either “Out the Back” or “Scott Cam’s Home maintenance for knuckleheads”.
